When configured, the system automatically detects a failure, boots a blade from the standby pool and assigns it the identity of the previously active blade.
No Additional Cost
Because standby blades are powered off (cold), no additional software licenses are required and the N+M feature is built into every system at no additional cost.
Protection for Multi-OS Systems
A single cold standby blade can provide backup for a pool of active blades with multiple operating systems.
