Companies Sign Software Agreement for Efficient and Cost-effective Monitoring of Dell Servers and Storage Products through a Single, Easy to Use Interface
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — September 27, 2011 — Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT/ TSE: 6501), today announced that Hitachi IT Operations Analyzer software, including plug-ins customized for monitoring Dell™ products, is now certified by the Dell Technology Partner Program. Hitachi IT Operations Analyzer is fully integrated with Dell PowerEdge servers via an OMSA plug-in, which allows customers to monitor and report on specific metrics related to the server, including the power supply, battery, temperature, fan, storage controller, and the embedded system management log. Analyzer is also integrated via a custom plug-in to Dell EqualLogic storage products, reporting on array components, capacity, performance and other key areas.

As part of today’s announcement, Dell will also sell Hitachi IT Operations Analyzer network monitoring software to its North American customers through its direct and channel sales.
Hitachi IT Operations Analyzer software won the prestigious 2010 International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) Silver Award in the Interactive Product Experiences category under the Business, Communications and Productivity division.
