John Mansfield leads the company's global engineering, product design and technical strategies, product management, and holds overall product profit and loss responsibilities. He has many years of product development and management experience in the telecommunications infrastructure, systems integration, and software development markets. Mansfield was named to his current position in April 2015, after serving as executive vice president of global solutions, strategy and development.
Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems, Mansfield was vice president of product management with StorageNetworks, a storage service provider based in Waltham, Massachusetts. He spent four years developing and deploying storage solutions for enterprise and e-commerce customers. Prior to StorageNetworks, he was a vice president with Sapient Corporation, a leading Web integrator and consultancy based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Mansfield holds degrees in electrical and biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgetown University. He was also an aircraft carrier pilot for six years in the United States Navy.
