Secure Partitioned Administration
Secure Management of Shared Storage Assets
Hitachi enterprise storage is often connected to multiple hosts and shared by multiple divisions in a company (or by multiple companies). This means one storage system often has multiple storage administrators. As a result, compartmentalized management of the storage system is required.
Hitachi Resource Partition Manager software addresses this need by enabling administrative partitioning of storage system resources. It can be used with local authentication on Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) and Hitachi Unified Storage VM (HUS VM). It can also be integrated into corporate directory services and security systems using standard management interfaces, such as Active Directory, LDAP and RADIUS. It supports open and mainframe storage configurations.
Solving security and audit or compliance issues, Hitachi Resource Partition Manager enables management of shared storage assets by different groups.
