BlueArc JetMirror Uses an Object-based File System
Our file system is object based. File system structures, metadata and user data are stored as objects, rather than as complete files or blocks.
- Replication performance: Full replication performance typically improves by 2 times to 3 times with BlueArc JetMirror
- Incremental replication, especially at the scale of millions of small files or high rates of change, typically improves up to 25 times over file-based replication methods
- Improved disaster recovery: Object replication enables fast failover in the event of a disaster, without the need for the same hardware at both ends
- Flexible deployment options: Object-based replication maintains the replication status on both the source and target file system, allowing replication to continue in the event of an interruption
