Reward Asia Pacific’s best technology deployment and inspiring IT leadership
HONG KONG — August 17, 2010 — Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT), today announced the launch of the annual IT Inspiration Awards that recognize and reward the inspiration that is powering the success of Asia Pacific’s enterprise technology industry.
Online public voting starts today across all five award categories on the event microsite (http://www.hds.com/apac/itia/). This year, over 130 nominations have been received from 70 companies across the Asia Pacific region. The winners will be announced in the prize presentation ceremony on November 10, in Japan, at the annual Hitachi Data Systems CIO Summit.
Split into two categories—industry and thought-leadership—the awards reflect the changes sweeping the enterprise storage industry. The four industry categories reflect current hot buttons like cloud-computing and cost-efficiency, while the ‘CIO of the Year’ award recognizes exemplary IT leadership. A diamond, platinum and gold award will be given in each industry category.
Over the last three years—since the inception of the awards in 2008—the IT Inspiration Awards has generated widespread interest amongst enterprises across the region as demonstrated by the increase in nominations each year. The nominations received in the form of case studies have highlighted a variety of business problems and how they have been resolved with ingenuity, perspiration, inspiration and leading storage technology. This has since established a reservoir of best practices that companies can draw on and be inspired by.
“Data drives our world and information is the new currency, making it the most prized assets of every organization. The awards echo our vision that IT must be virtualized, automated, cloud-ready and sustainable. The IT Inspiration Awards are an ideal platform to share best practices within the IT community and about how technology can solve complex storage challenges. It is an eagerly-awaited event as each year the awards set new benchmarks, bring new insights and most importantly are a source of learning for companies in the Asia Pacific,” said Kevin Eggleston, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific.
Last year’s competition witnessed enterprises like Li & Fung Group and Chong Hing Bank Limited from Hong Kong, and Samsung from Korea amongst others walking away with the top honors.1
