Filtering unwanted emails into a spam folder is a necessity these days, but you don't want important emails to accidentally get "black listed." Choose an email client below to learn how to prevent emails from Hitachi Data Systems from being filtered into your junk folder.

MICROSOFT OUTLOOK

• 1. Open Microsoft Outlook email client
• 2. Click on the MAIL tab
• 3. Click on the email you want to add to your safe list
• 4. Click on ACTIONS > JUNK EMAIL > ADD SENDER'S DOMAIN TO SAFE SENDERS LIST

GMAIL

• 1. Go to www.gmail.com and login to your email account, just like you would to check your email
• 2. Click on SETTINGS in the top right of the page
• 3. Select the FILTERS tab
• 4. On the FILTERS screen, click CREATE A NEW FILTER
• 5. Type hds.com into the FROM field and leave all other settings as they are
• 6. Click NEXT STEP
• 7. Check the NEVER SEND IT TO SPAM box
• 8. Click CREATE FILTER
• 9. Follow steps 2 through 8 to create a filter for info-hds.com

YAHOO MAIL

• 1. Open your Yahoo mailbox
• 2. Click the OPTIONS link
• 3. Click FILTERS
• 4. Click CREATE OR EDIT FILTERS
• 5. Click the ADD button
• 6. Specify a name for the filter
• 7. In the top row, labeled FROM HEADER, make sure CONTAINS is selected in the pull down menu
• 8. Click on the text box next to the pull-down menu, and enter hds.com
• 9. At the bottom, where it says Move the message to:, select INBOX from the pull down menu
• 10. Click the ADD button again to add a new filter
• 11. Follow steps 5 through 10 to add a filter for info-hds.com

WINDOWS LIVE HOTMAIL

• 1. After opening an HDS.com email, click MARK AS SAFE above the message
• -- OR --
• 1. Log into your email account
• 2. Under the OPTIONS dropdown click on the MORE OPTIONS link in the main navigation
• 3. Under JUNK E-MAIL, click SAFE AND BLOCKED SENDERS
• 4. Click SAFE SENDERS
• 5. Enter @hds.com and click ADD TO LIST
• 7. Enter @info-hds.com and click ADD TO LIST

AOL Mail

• 1. Open your AOL mailbox
• 2. Click SETTINGS in the main navigation
• 3. Click SPAM CONTROLS
• 4. Click to the section named SPAM FILTERS BY ADDRESS
• 5. Select CUSTOM from the dropdown menu
• 6. Select the radio button named ALLOW MAIL FROM
• 7. Enter @hds.com into the text area and click the "+" sign
• 8. Similarly, enter @info-hds.com into the text area and click the "+" sign
• 9. Finally click the SAVE button to save the settings

Various email programs, including Eudora and Netscape Mail, don't provide a convenient way for you to "safe list" specific addresses. If emails continue to be filtered, call or email your ISP's tech support and ask how you can receive our emails.
