Independent Research Highlights 78 Percent Customer Payback on Virtualization Investment within 6 Months and Reduced Provisioning Time by 50 Percent
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — February 25, 2010 — Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT) and the only provider of Service Oriented Storage Solutions, today released the results of independent, third-party research across Hitachi Data Systems solutions. Research results indicate Hitachi Data Systems customers have seen impressive returns on their storage assets. Of customers surveyed, 78 percent have seen a payback on their virtualization technology investments as early as 6 months. In addition, 86 percent of Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V and VM family customers have increased their performance 10 to 25 percent compared to other enterprise storage systems in their prior environment.

Hitachi Data Systems technologies and solutions surveyed include Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V and VM family, Hitachi High-performance NAS, Hitachi Data Protection Suite, Hitachi Storage Command Suite, Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage family and Hitachi Content Archive Platform which was renamed Hitachi Content Platform.
