(NYSE: HIT), today announced the appointment of Scott Genereux to the position of vice president, Global Marketing and Business Development from his former position as vice president, U.S. Sales, Service, and Support. Mr. Genereux will spearhead Hitachi Data Systems' initiatives to accelerate the company's position in the storage solutions market, building on the company's impressive market share gains the over the past two years and its recently announced Hitachi TrueNorth™ strategy for open storage management.

With over a decade of experience at Hitachi Data Systems, Scott Genereux draws upon a broad base of expertise in the storage industry. He joined Hitachi Data Systems in 1989 as a Systems Engineer and was quickly promoted through the ranks for outstanding performance, holding a series of positions with increasing responsibility in product management, sales management, and operations. In his former capacity as vice president U.S. Sales, Service, and Support, Scott Genereux grew sales revenue by over 20% in an extremely tough economic climate, and built a premiere customer set that includes over 50% of the Fortune 100.
