Twenty-five years ago, Hitachi, Ltd., created the Hitachi Foundation with a bold vision to build a bridge of understanding between North America and Japan. Two Hitachi Data Systems executives were recently honored by the Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
Nancy Long, senior vice president and chief human resources officer, received the Mentor of the Year Award and was a finalist in the Best Executive and Women Helping Women categories.
Susan Lynch, senior vice president and chief financial officer, was a finalist in two categories: Best Executive and Mentor of the Year.
The Stevie Awards were created to honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and business people worldwide. The mission of the Stevies is to raise the profile of exemplary organizations and individuals among the press, the business community and the general public. The name "Stevie" comes from the Greek name "Stefanos," which means "crowned."
