Mike Gustafson

As senior vice president and general manager, File and Content Solutions, Gustafson sets the strategic direction and leads the operational management of the entire file and content portfolio of Hitachi Data Systems. This portfolio provides integrated and cost-effective hardware and software solutions that help solve customers' unstructured data growth challenges. The file and content business is the foundation for the company's strategy on big data.

Gustafson joined Hitachi Data Systems from BlueArc, where he served as president and CEO of the company from May 2005 through the acquisition by Hitachi Data Systems in September 2011. He has more than 20 years of experience in the storage, server, networking systems and IT industries. Prior to BlueArc, Gustafson was senior vice president at McData, where from 1998 to 2004, he was responsible for worldwide sales, services and marketing. He was a key member of the management team that led McData's initial public offering, global sales expansion and partnership strategies. He helped McData gain industry-leading share in the enterprise storage area network market, growing annual revenues to more than US$400 million. Prior to McData, Gustafson worked at IBM, where he ran sales for various divisions, including direct and channel sales, and had responsibility for nearly US$4 billion in yearly revenue.
