Michael Väth
Senior Vice President and General Manager, EMEA
Michael Väth leads Hitachi Data Systems business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa as Senior Vice President and General Manager. As a member of the company's Executive Committee, Väth also plays a key role in the Worldwide Sales Organization of Hitachi Data Systems, focused on sales development skills and programs.
Väth joined the company in 2005 and working closely with the global and European executive teams and the regional country managers, has grown Hitachi Data Systems revenue, profit and market in EMEA.
Before coming to Hitachi Data Systems, Väth ran his own management consulting company. Between 1998 and 2003, he worked for StorageTek, joining as Central Region General Manager (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) in 1998 and rising to Vice President and General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa, in 1999.
Väth has also worked in national and international management roles for NCR Teradata, Olivetti Group and Bull AG. He holds Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt, Germany. He is a member of the European Strategy Board of the Hitachi Group and a founding member of BITKOM, the German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunication and News Media, and serves on its board.
