Mark Kay
Senior Vice President and General Manager, APAC
As vice president and general manager, Mark Kay heads the Hitachi Data Systems sales organization throughout Asia and the Pacific. Kay leads an experienced team that has been responsible for the tremendous growth of the company in the APAC region.
Kay is a 20+ year veteran of Hitachi Data Systems. He began his career in Australia in 1985 as a customer engineer and then became a Sales Representative. He quickly moved up the ranks holding sales leadership roles in Australia, New Zealand and then Asia. Kay spent seven years in Asia and became the general manager of Southeast Asia, where he was responsible for the company's business in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines. After his extensive field experience, Kay moved to Hitachi Data Systems Santa Clara headquarters and began his corporate experience as senior director of Global Sales Support. He later was promoted to serve as vice president of Global Alliances before returning back to the field. Most recently, Kay has been leading our business in Australia and New Zealand.
Kay earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Durham University in the United Kingdom.
