
Hicham Abdessamad leads Hitachi Data Systems worldwide professional services, consulting, managed services and customer support organizations. He oversees the strategic direction and execution of services and support, ensuring a positive, seamless customer experience. His responsibilities include overall solutions strategy, services development, engineering and integration. As part of that, he drives consistency and efficiency in service delivery and support by adapting repeatable methodologies and proven best practices.
Before being named executive vice president of global services, Abdessamad held leadership roles in various organizations including vice president of global solution services, and senior director of the Hitachi Data Systems Global Software line of business.
Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems, Abdessamad led the EMC Global Practice for the Open Software division. He was responsible for systems engineering, support and professional services for the EMC Control Center product suite. He later became global practice manager for the EMC Information Management Software Division. Abdessamad also worked at StorageNetworks, where he pioneered the storage service provider model, driving their transformation into a software and services-based company.
Abdessamad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Suffolk University. He also completed the executive development program at the Wharton School of Business at Dartmouth University, and the executive leadership program at the International Institute of Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.
