New Senior Hire to Drive Local Customer Adoption of Storage and Cloud Solutions
Singapore — January 11, 2012 — Hitachi Data Systems Corporation (HDS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT / TSE: 6501), today announced that it has named Joe Ong as managing director for Singapore. This appointment underscores the company’s commitment to provide greater support to local customers, meeting local growth objectives and extending its market share in Singapore.
Based in Singapore, Joe is responsible for providing overall leadership and guidance on business direction, including go-to-market strategies for the country. Joe will report to Ravi Rajendran, vice president and general manager for ASEAN, HDS.

The appointment comes at a time when HDS is experiencing continued strong growth in Asia Pacific, as evidenced by a growth rate of 36 percent in the region during the second quarter of fiscal year 2011. The continued commitment to the region also includes other recent initiatives such as the expansion of its Asia Pacific Distribution Centre.
