Hitachi Data Systems has extended its leadership in virtualization with the launch of the industry's first unified storage product that provides enterprise-class virtualization for all data types (block, file and object). "With Hitachi Unified Storage VM (HUS VM), we have redefined what virtualization means to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by bringing our industry-leading virtualization capabilities to this market segment. Now all sizes of enterprises can virtualize, manage and unify their choice of data on a single platform,” said Mr Ravi Rajendran, Vice President and General Manager, HDS ASEAN.
HUS VM enables SMEs to balance growing operating expenses against limited budgets, and to manage expanding data volumes with longer data retention requirements. It simplifies operations and enables more efficient storage management across all virtualized storage assets, including multi-vendor storage. This results in 30 per cent better total cost of ownership compared to non-virtualized systems, and 90 per cent faster data migration compared with the competition. HUS VM is also the only unified storage product to provide a 100 per cent data availability guarantee.
